User and Carer Involvement (UCI) Dumfries and Galloway is a voluntary organisation that works to ensure that people who have a mental illness, dementia or a learning disability, and their carers, have a representative voice and, as a result, have more control over their lives and the services they need. The organisation is led by people who have lived experience and involving people in all aspects of the organisation’s work is a fundamental principle that drives everything that we do.
UCI is currently seeking a Chief Officer who will lead the organisation to ensure that we achieve our goals taking a rights-based approach. The Chief Officer will be someone who has Excellent understanding of the issues faced by people marginalised by inequality; knowledge of the laws relevant to the social care needs of the people UCI aims to support; and at least 2 years’ experience of working with people who experience inequality. The person must also have proven experience of multi-agency working.
The Chief Officer will manage a small staff team and work closely with the local health and social care providers across the Region.
